Beautiful escape

We had a great time at Paraiso del Mar. It’s a perfect distance from town - just a 5-10 min walk along the beach. The beach chairs along the beach with servers available to bring you food or drinks was fantastic. Our room was very comfortable and quiet - loved our second floor balcony with a hammock that was kinda hidden in the trees. Breakfast was awesome - good food and slightly different each day. All the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. They have beach towels available for guests.

Lovely quiet stay in Holbox close to the center

The hotel is very well located and the private beach with the beach bar is super convenient. The room is quite big and the bed is also super comfy!! The staff is very nice always available and happy to help. We arrived at 10.30pm at night and they offered us to go have dinner before the kitchen close and then do the check in which we’ve really appreciated. The hotel location is in a quiet area and like 10 min walk from the center of Holbox.

The shower could be refreshed but it was fine though.

Honest feedback

It was a beautiful hotel and the food and cocktails were very good.

I didn't like that we were put in a unsuitable room and that I had to convince them to be moved. Some manners of staff were also questionable. It wouldn't be enough to make me not choose the hotel and it was a very beautiful spot.

The Beach and hotel environment. The breakfast was very good

The amount of seaweed or Sargasso that was on the sand. The hotel should clean it like other facilities did.

Not the place it was 9 years ago,no mattrer what the hotels say.

The hotel was very nice altough we did not stay at Paraísos del Palmar but in Palapas del mar,breakfast buffet is very good.

Hotel was OK. I had been to Holbox 9 years ago and I thought the island would be more or less the same.NO WAY!!! .If your idea of vacations is endless bars, restaurants, yoga, massage parlors,tours, kite surf schools one after the other along the beach and endless golf cart taxi traffic then Holbox is for you. If you want quiet, natural beauty of endless white beaches this is not the place anymore.Sargazo is an issue,the smell of mountains of rotting seaweed did not bother me very much but this prevented my wife from even stepping on the beach.

Great location. Check in was a quick and easy process. Our room was well air conditioned.

The bikes weren’t available to use. The breakfast was very good however you had to pay additional for a latte.

Worth the stay, beware the toilets.

Beautiful lush grounds, nice staff

Toilets have no water pressure and you can’t flush toilet paper! Have to put it in a bit open waste basket beside the toilets and this isn’t because they’re “broken” this is just normal in Holbox ughhh

Not the best experience in Mexico, but the location just increased the experience.

The location is amazing.

The service was not as good as you would expect iba mexico. Starting from the General manager, that shouldn’t be in that position. She has no idea what that position should be. She should be removed immediately. If you have a bad leader it’s obvious the staff will be bad. The pool is a joke for the size of the hotel. We experienced something 180 degrees different on the neighbor property, palapas Del Mar, where service was amazing. They have a good leader not one that has no idea of what customer service is.

Nice but pricey

Good location on the beach and close to town. Rooms are a good size with comfy beds, mini fridge, nice balcony area and the air con worked well. Breakfast buffet was great, very varied i.e. continental, omelette station, local options. Bikes are available to rent from the hotel. Generally very friendly and hard-working staff.

There are lots of stairs up to the room so not very accessible. Wi-fi was a bit patchy, especially in the room, but worked okay in the lobby. The service on the beach was quite slow when ordering food/drinks. Unfortunately the pool was not open during our stay and there were water supply issues i.e. no water in the rooms, but I think this was island wide and not hotel specific. Check-in was slow (but it was Arron's first day and he was very friendly!). More umbrellas are needed in the beach area.
